Tim's career in media and public relations began in the U.S. Army, where he was an award-winning journalist and public affairs professional who served at Ft. Benning, GA, 2nd Infantry Division on the De-Militarized Zone in Korea, and Ft. Huachuca, AZ. His military career culminated with an assignment as the bureau chief in Wuerzburg, Germany, covering troops along the East German border for the European Stars & Stripes newspaper. Tim is a graduate of Roosevelt University and the Society for Information Management's Regional Leadership Program. He is the Director of Cary Pride Day, a community beautification program that draws more than 100 volunteers annually and in 2007 received the State of Illinois Governor's Home Town Award for Excellence through Volunteerism. Tim served on the Boy Scout Troop 657 and Cub Scout Pack 557 committees, and was a founding board member of CHARACTER COUNTS! in Cary and the first President of the Cary-Grove High School Cross Country and Track & Field Association. In 2007, he was the first recipient of the Village of Cary’s Pride Award for service to the community, and in 2012 was one of six inaugural recipients of the Cary Park District Service Award.
